Carlos Whetten

Mr. Whetten is an attorney licensed by the Supreme Court of Nevada, and the Supreme Court of New Mexico, as well as being a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association. Mr. Whetten graduated from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah with a bachelor’s degree in English Literature, and received his Juris Doctor from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas. While at St. Mary’s, Mr. Whetten worked in the school’s Center for Legal and Social Justice Immigration and Human Rights Clinic and served as a staff writer for The Scholar: St. Mary’s Law Review on Race and Social Justice.

Before joining Jaime Barron, P.C., Mr. Whetten practiced immigration law in Salt Lake City, Utah, and Las Vegas, Nevada, where he represented clients before the Immigration Court and the Department of Homeland Security. Born in El Paso, Texas to Mexican parents, Mr. Whetten feels at home on both sides of the border. In addition to living in the United States and Mexico, Mr. Whetten has lived in Paraguay, Ecuador, Colombia, and Spain. Mr. Whetten is fluent in both English and Spanish.

In his free time, Mr. Whetten enjoys exploring new places, camping on the weekends, and visiting friends and family across the country. Mr. Whetten is very happy to be back home in Texas and is proud of the work he does as an immigration attorney.
