Mr. Nieto is a licensed attorney in Mexico and he received his law degree from Universidad Autónoma de Chihuahua. He received his L.L.M (Masters in International and Comparative Law) from Southern Methodist University (SMU) – Dedman School of Law in 2003.
Prior to joining the private bar, Mr. Nieto worked for Catholic Charities–Immigration and Counseling Services where he worked as an accredited Immigration Counselor for more than 3 years. Aside from immigration counseling, he was the outreach coordinator responsible for presentations in the community regarding immigration issues. After his work with the non-profit sector, Rafael worked with various renowned law firms in the field of Immigration and Nationality Law. He has worked with other immigration law firms including Cedillo-Pereira & Cedillo, P.L.L.C. and Reina & Associates. Mr. Nieto has over 10 years of experience in Immigration Law prior to his work at the law firm of Jaime Barron, P.C.
He is a senior legal assistant and office manager with Jaime Barron, P.C. Aside from his expertise and understanding of the complex U.S. Immigration Law, Rafael also provides constant direction, guidance and legal advice in Mexican Law. He is fluent in English and Spanish.
